3 Tricks to Stretch Your Income
Ever wondered about the things you could do and buy if only you had more cash? You’re not the only one.
But the reality is, there isn’t really much spare change resting in your pockets. Hence, the first step is to try and think about where you currently stand when it comes to your disposable income and try to cut your spending.
Here are some tricks to stretch out your money:
Stop it with the credit cards
Is your credit card debt causing the problem? Your outstanding balance may no longer be just about the purchases that you’ve made, but overlimit or missed payment penalties.
If that’s the case, leave your card at home and try to use cash as much as possible. Also, always buy your household needs first before splurging on unnecessary items.
Stop dining out – for now
Eating out is one of the reasons why we end up with empty pockets by the end of the month. If we looked at the numerous dining establishments and see how packed they are day in and out, then it is easy to understand why.
We get it – it is time-consuming to prepare your meals at home, but this can end up saving you a lot of money, which is your goal right? To help you start, set a regular budget for the week and incorporate a meal planner to ensure that you don’t stray mid-week. Consider cooking large portions so you can just re-heat for the following morning.
Consider your transportation options
Ever considered carpooling? You can share parking and gas with someone else, to help save cash if you’re going towards the same direction anyway. Also, if you have colleagues who have cars themselves, consider riding with them instead and just shell out on the said fees. Also, if it is safe and convenient for you, consider walking or riding your bicycle to save completely on gas. It’s also great for the environment!
